Workshop
Yin Yoga and Acupuncture with Live Music
Saturday, May 17
3:30 - 6 pm
$40 and Up
Experience the ultimate relaxation and rebalancing of energy during our Yin Yoga and Acupuncture with Live music workshop with Donna from Alameda Community Acupuncture and Tatiana from Svastha Yoga Hub, along with Dave doing his magic with the live music. Come to decompress, recenter and calm your body and mind, allowing your energy to flow freely while experiencing a sense rejuvenation.
With a combination of Yin Yoga and Acupuncture, you will experience a restorative retreat from the busyness of everyday life and enter the new year more grounded and refreshed. Soothing live music will be played during the Yin Yoga portion of the event.
Yin Yoga is a meditative, healing practice using long-held floor poses. It stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout your body delivering increased circulation in the joints. The poses are held about 2 minutes.
Acupuncture, on the other hand, is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. It is based on the concept of Qi, which is the vital energy that flows through the body along pathways known as meridians.
Please wear comfortable clothing so Donna can easily access your legs and elbows. All participants will need to fill out an acupuncture waiver at the beginning of the workshop.
About the facilitators:
About Dave: David Saÿen hails from Philadelphia where he studied music at Temple University. He began his lifelong yoga path watching "Lilia’s Yoga and You” on public television, and later studied Iyengar yoga with Connie Hernandez in Philadelphia. His musical passion is jazz, but he has extensive experience in theatre, church music, big bands, and popular music. He proudly leads Spill the Wine Band monthly at the Cinema Grill in Alameda. He loves to dance almost as much as he loves playing music. You might say he stands out from the crowd.
About Donna: Donna Chang is a trauma-sensitive acupuncturist and somatic practitioner dedicated to helping people increase nervous system resilience and reconnect with their body’s innate wisdom. Founder of Alameda Community Acupuncture, Donna brings a holistic, compassionate approach to support individual and collective healing.
About Tatiana: Tatiana Stollman is a wellness professional who integrates different disciplines such as yoga, meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques), nutrition, personal training, women's health, prehab and rehab conditioning, youth exercise and senior fitness to assist others to live their best possible lives. She is the founder of Svastha Yoga Wellness and Community Hub in Alameda.
