Yoga Instructor
Jennifer Ekman
Jennifer Ekman (she/her) earned her 200hr RYT certificate in 2020 from Brett Larkin Yoga. She then earned her second 200hr RYT certificate from Haum Yoga in San Francisco in 2022 studying under Jeremy Falk, Rachel Wilkins and Nat Kendall. Certified in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Accessible Yoga and Yoga For All, Jenn strives to create an inclusive, non-competitive environment for all students.
First finding yoga over 20 years ago as a great form of physical exercise, Jenn quickly realized that the body isn't the only thing yoga exercises. Now with a strong meditation practice and a desire to serve her community, she has embarked on a journey to delve deeper into yoga philosophy and the tools yoga offers for use on and off the mat. She is a huge fan of using props and encourages students to meet themselves on the mat in the present moment. Jenn teaches a vinyasa flow with an emphasis on finding the balance between sthira and sukha (effort and ease) and allowing for a full mind, body and soul workout. She believes the practice of yoga provides great support off the mat in our technology infused and fast paced world, enabling us to slow down and be fully present in our own mind, body and space.
Jenn has also infused her love of music and yoga to offer fully immersive sound baths using different sounds and frequencies that invite deep relaxation and rest. With the use of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, gongs, sea and wave drums, monochord, harmonium and voice Jenn invites you to go within and find a deeper sense of calm. Benefits include stress management, enhanced focus, better sleep, mental clarity, a deeper state of consciousness and much more.
When Jenn is not on the mat she can be found playing chauffeur to her amazing kids, watching lots of travel baseball and soccer, singing Jazz with her group the High Seas, walking her two energetic dogs, performing musical theatre in venues all over the bay, biking, hiking, traveling the world or reading a good book. She is also a CASA to kids in the foster care system and volunteers in her community when she can find the free time!
Yoga Instructor
Nicole Stone
Nicole has been a lover of movement ever since she can remember. From gymnastics, jazz, ballet and tap dance as a child, to finding yoga at age 17, and to studying Dance & Choreography at Wesleyan University, she has always found movement to be her greatest joy. Nicole has had opportunities to study movement from many cultural traditions including dances from South India, Spain, West Africa, Cuba, & Java, and movement practices from India, Tibet, and China. She has studied with yoga masters including Mary Lou Weprin and Gay White (Iyengar-style), qigong masters including Dr. Bingkun Hu, Chris Fernie and Micheline Bogey, dance improvising artists including Anna Halprin, Deborah Hay, and Ruth Zaporah, and somatic teachers including Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen of Body-Mind Centering, Emilie Conrad & Susan Harper of Continuum Movement.

Yoga has been one of Nicole's life-long companions. She took to it right away, feeling held & nourished by the chanting, breathwork (pranayama), and challenging poses (asanas). She recalls lying in savasana at the end of her first-ever yoga class when all her bodily cells were tingling with YES! Now, in her middle-aged maternal body, yoga practice still renews her. She practices to come home to herself, to stay strong & flexible, and to allow her breath to deepen and open her. Yoga is a wellspring that keeps giving, and for this she is full-heartedly grateful.
Nicole is an experienced and passionate Yoga Instructor with advanced training in the Iyengar-style of Yoga. She provides clear, descriptive instruction and develops class sequences that scaffold learning and leave no one behind. She creates a safe, fun, peaceful, and inclusive environment in which all bodies are honored and attention can be focused deep inside. She draws from her rich experience as a dancer, qigong teacher, and somatic explorer. She brings in her knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and other somatic modalities. Nicole embodies the joy of movement and holds a deep respect for the cultures out of which the movement practices were born.
In her free time, you will find Nicole hiking in the Oakland Redwoods, taking a bath with a good book, Stand Up Paddle boarding in the bay, swimming, and hot-springing. She enjoys reading spiritual texts, meditating with her cat, and being a mom of her teenage boy.

She has also received Yoga for Scoliosis training from Ellise Miller at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco, CA and energy healing training from Ashina at Great Heart Healing in Sausalito, CA.

She loves sharing these benefits with her friends and family, introducing them to the wonderful world of yoga.
